San Antonio Metropolitan Ballet, a member of Regional Dance America/Southwest, is hosting auditions for its 2009-2010 season on Saturday, May 2, and Sunday, May 3, for area dancers who are interested in becoming members of one of South Texas’ premiere performing arts organizations.

Dancers in the upcoming season will have the opportunity to perform in the full-length ballet “Cinderella” on Oct. 30-31 and Nov. 1 at the Municipal Auditorium. Company dancers will also be able to participate in the April 2010 RDA/Southwest Festival, which includes three days of master classes, scholarship auditions and performances by 24 dance companies from a four-state region.
Interested dancers need to have had at least three years of training prior to the audition. Registration is free. Please bring pointe shoes, if applicable.
On Saturday, May 2, trainees (dancers ages 9 to 12) register at 1 p.m. for a class from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Apprentices and company hopefuls (ages 13 and above) register at 2:15 p.m. for a class from 2:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. On Sunday, May 3, trainees, apprentices and company hopefuls register at 2 p.m. for a class from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
